Wind posts FY revenues up 4.4%
Italian operator Wind reported revenues of EUR 5.271 billion for 2007, up 4.4 percent from a year earlier. Mobile service revenues were up 8 percent, while organic fixed and internet revenues increased 3.8 percent. EBITDA improved 9.9 percent to EUR 1.811 billion, while the EBITDA margin improved by 1.6 points to 34.4 percent. Net profit jumped to EUR 198 million from EUR 23 million in 2006. Capital expenditure increased over the prior year to EUR 749 million, mainly due to spending on HSDPA and UMTS coverage and expanding LLU infrastructure. In Q4, revenues rose 6.8 percent from a year earlier to EUR 1.413 billion, and EBITDA grew 15.5 percent to EUR 447 million. At the mobile business, the subscriber base grew 6.4 percent last year to a total 15.6 million, while ARPU improved to EUR 19.2. Traffic reached 29.1 billion minutes, up 24 percent from 2006, while the number of SMS increased 83 percent to over 7.4 billion. In fixed line, the direct customer base grew by 43 percent to 1.43 million. Voice customers increased 46 percent to 1.37 million, with over 103,000 additions in Q4. Broadband customers totalled 1.02 million at year-end, up 34 percent from 2006. The LLU network reached 850 sites and 43 percent of households. Wind targets 50 percent of homes by the end of 2008.
