Wireless high-definition video trials planned
Nippon Telegraph Telephone (NTT), NTT Communications (NTT Com) and Fuji Television Network (Fuji TV) have announced plans to jointly test wireless high-definition videon transmissions, reports the Nihon Keizai Shimbun. If wireless transmission of high-definition video proves successful, it would allow events and concerts to be broadcast live from remote locations. The tests will take place between August 2005 and spring 2006, aiming to send uncompressed high-definition video using 120GHz millimeter wave spectrum.
