Xiaomi complies with Indian sales ban
Xiaomi said it will comply with an Indian court ruling ban the sale and import of its smartphones in the country due to patent infringement allegations against the company from Ericsson. The Chinese company said in a statement on its Indian website that it was "committed to continue our sales of Redmi Note and Redmi 1S devices in India". In the previous two days alone, Xiaomi said it received over 150,000 registrations for the Redmi Note on the e-commerce site Flipkart. However, the company said it would abide by the High Court's ruling and suspend sales until further notice. It apologised to customers and said it was doing everything it could to restore business.
