XL Axiata to sell 2,500 towers to Protelindo
Indonesian telecommunication provider XL Axiata entered into an agreement to sell 2,500 of its telecommunications towers for IDR 3.57 trillion (USD 267.22 million) to Profesional Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Protelindo), a unit of Sarana Menara Nusantara, according to Reuters. In a stock exchange filing, XL Axiata also said it rented 2,432 of its towers to Protelindo as the anchor tenants for 10 years. The deal is expected to be closed by 30 June.

Protelindo completes acquisition of 1,723 towers from XL Axiata

Profesional Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Protelindo) has completed the acquisition of 1,723 towers, with a physical handover of 1,400 towers and over 2,200 tenancies from XL Axiata. XL Axiata completes 2,500 tower sale to Protelindo

Indonesian telecommunication provider XL Axiata has completed the sale of 2,500 of its telecommunications towers for IDR 3.57 trillion (USD 267.22 million) to Profesional Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Protelindo), a unit of Sarana Menara Nusantara. Protelindo has also leased back 2,433 towers from the towers sold to XL, where XL is the main lessee for a period of 10 years under a Tower Master Lease Agreement. The deal was announced on 29 March this year.

Movistar Chile to cede 328 towers to Telxius

Telefonica Chile will transfer 328 towers, valued at CLP 7.85 billion (USD 11.5 million), to Telxius, a global company recently created by Telefonica to manage its infrastructure assets. In a statement to stock market regulator SVS, Telefonica said the sale will involve 0.56 percent of its infrastructure assets and does not include telecommunications equipment, antennas or electronics. The goal of the operation is to reduce future capex and focus on the company's core business.

Zain KSA open to sale or joint ownership of towers

Zain Saudi is considering joint ownership or a sale of its mobile transmitter towers, Reuters reported, citing sources. CEO Hassan Kabbani said their competitors are also considering such a move, adding that many tower companies are increasingly keen to dispose of towers that now provide little competitive advantage due to broadly similar network quality and coverage, although no such deals have been completed in the Middle East.
