Yahoo! appoints Savitt as marketing head
Yahoo! has appointed Kathy Savitt as chief marketing officer, responsible for worldwide marketing and branding. Savitt will join the company on 14 September and will report directly to Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer. Savitt is a consumer, retail and technology executive with experience in product development and marketing. She was most recently founder and CEO of Lockerz. Prior to founding Lockerz, Savitt was executive vice president and CMO of American Eagle Outfitters, where she led brand efforts, store and multi-channel marketing for the company's portfolio of brands. She has held senior leadership roles at Amazon.com and was president of MWW Savitt, where she consulted with Fortune 500 clients across the globe.

Yahoo! plans musical road trip

Yahoo! is organising a road trip in the US and Europe this spring and summer billed as a "daily mobile entertainment and innovation festival", writes chief marketing officer Kathy Savitt in a blog post. The "Yahoo! On the Road" event will take in 14 US cities in May, starting with New York and ending in San Francisco, and 7 cities in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the UK in June and July. Yahoo! profits jump on sale of Alibaba shares

Yahoo! reported third-quarter revenues up 2 percent from a year earlier, to USD 1.089 billion. Both search and display ad revenues were up 1 percent after traffic acquisition costs, and CEO Marissa Mayer said the company was "encouraged by the stabilization in search and display revenue". Excluding restructuring charges, operating profit rose to USD 177 million from USD 175 million a year ago, while adjusted EPS rose 66 percent year-on-year to USD 0.35. Yahoo! names Reses executive VP of people and development

Yahoo! has announced that it has appointed Jacqueline Reses as executive vice president of people and development. Prior to joining Yahoo! Reses worked for Apax Partners where she served on the board of directors and led investments. Before Apax, Reses was CEO of iBuilding and spent seven years at Goldman Sachs. Reses has also served on several non-profit boards, was named one of Crain's New York Business' 'Most Influential Women' and was one of Dealmaker magazine's 'Dealmakers of the Year'.
