Yahoo! doubles net earnings in Q4

Yahoo!'s fourth-quarter revenues slipped 12 percent to USD 1.53 billion from USD 1.73 billion in the fourth quarter of 2009. The company attributes the decrease primarily to the required change in revenue presentation and the revenue share with Microsoft associated with their search agreement. Income from operations increased by 85 percent to USD 220 million in the fourth quarter, compared to USD 119 million. Yahoo! reported net earnings of USD 0.24 per share, up 120 percent from USD 0.11 per share a year earlier. Net earnings more than doubled to USD 312 million versus USD 153 million in the year-ago period. For the first quarter of 2011, Yahoo! expects revenues in the range of USD 1.15 to 1.23 million.
