Yahoo Japan, Bharti Airtel establish mobile portal JV
Yahoo Japan and mobile operator Bharti Airtel have agreed to establish a joint venture. The JV will develop a mobile portal site to provide services in India. The joint venture will begin operations at the end of June.

Yahoo! Japan saw its fourth quarter profit grow 15.4 percent to JPY 31.8 billion from JPY 27.6 billion in Q4 2011. Revenues totalled JPY 97.9 billion, up 22.6 percent from JPY 79.9 billion a year earlier. Bharti Airtel revenues up 14%, net profit falls 37%

Bharti Airtel reported revenues for the fiscal first quarter to June up 14 percent from a year earlier to INR 193.50 billion. EBITDA rose a slower 3 percent to INR 58.49 billion, as growth in Africa was offset by lower results in India and south Asia. Net profit declined 37 percent from a year earlier to INR 7.62 billion.
