YouTube announced that the YouTube Go app is now available in Nigeria and Indonesia. YouTube Go is an app designed to help users control the amount of data usage while downloading or browsing online and was specifically designed for emerging markets.
Available in the Google Play Store and taking only 9 MB storage, YouTube Go is designed to support users with lower-capacity phones or mobile data networks. It offers video downloading for offline viewing, a home screen with personalised recommendations as well as trending and popular videos nearby, and a ‘preview video’ function to make it easier to decide what to watch or download. Users can also check how much data a video will use before viewing.
