Zambian High Court orders restoration of internet services

The High Court of Zambia has ordered President Edgar Lungu to restore internet services to the populace, The New Zimbabwe reported.  Lungu, who is trailing opposition candidate Hakainde Hichilema in the 12 August general election, had blocked internet services to the public but was immediately challenged by Chapter One Foundation. The organisation made an urgent chamber application against Zambia Information, Communication Technology Authority's (ZICTA) closure of the WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Messenger platforms.
