UAE-based operator Etisalat has partnered with BlackBerry distributor EMS to develop a mobile application store for Blackberry customers in Tanzania. The service will launch initially in Tanzania where Etisalat operates under the name of Zantel. The Zantel Blackberry app store will give customers access to a wide range of content including entertainment, games, instant messaging, social networking, news, weather and work tools such as word processing and calendar. The companies will provide software tools to support the development community and encourage young Tanzanian developers to design mobile applications for African customers.
