
Ziggo reaches 1 mln fixed telephony customers

Dutch cable operator Ziggo said it passed the milestone of 1 million fixed telephony customers. To celebrate, the company is offering unlimited free calls to domestic fixed lines on 14 February. The milestone will also be celebrated with a TV and online ad campaign. The Smallenbroek family in Assen was named the 1 millionth telephony customer and awarded a home entertainment package including TV worth EUR 5,000. According to Telecompaper estimates, Ziggo finished 2009 with 984,000 customers, versus 1.199 million for incumbent KPN.
