ZTE to manage network for E-Plus in Germany
ZTE and German mobile network operator E-Plus Group are expanding their partnership to include managed services. As a result, ZTE will operate and maintain the E-Plus network in the future. Under the five-year contract, ZTE will be responsible for building, operating and maintaining the E-Plus network. The E-Plus Group will retain ownership over the network and maintain control over strategic network planning and development.

ZTE completes LTE / EPC interoperability testing for E-Plus

ZTE has completed interoperability testing of LTE / EPC (Evolved Packet Core) for The Base brand of German mobile network E-Plus within the LTE trial network of E-Plus. E-Plus conducts successful LTE network tests

German mobile network operator E-Plus has conducted LTE 1800 MHz network tests to evaluate interoperability between the network equipment of different suppliers. The tests in Bonn, conducted in July, saw four LTE base stations supplied by Ericsson work seamlessly with the core network components supplied by ZTE.

E-Plus, ZTE test new LTE antenna

German mobile network operator E-Plus and its partner ZTE have tested a new LTE antenna at the E-Plus head office in Dusseldorf in Germany. According to E-Plus, the test is the first of this kind in Europe. The new antenna uses beam forming to distribute the LTE signal more evenly, instead of delivering weaker capacities in the margin areas. E-Plus said that with the new antenna, data transfer is significantly more evenly distributed at a lower installation cost.

E-Plus plans to launch a tablet PC based on Android, manufacturered by ZTE under its own brand. The Base Tab will be available in combination with a data flatrate called Internet Flat Inklusive. Dutch operator KPN announced a joint development programme with ZTE focussed on the application of LTE technology in Germany and Belgium.
