Alcatel-Lucent confirms talks on Enterprise division sale
Alcatel-Lucent confirmed it's considering a sale of it's enterprise equipment business. The company said in a statement that "all options are being explored, including discussions with third parties". The company said it's meeting with staff of the Enterprise division to inform them of the plans, but noted that no final decision has been taken yet. In June, unions in France already staged action at Alcatel sites to demand the management be more open about its plans. This followed several reports saying the Enterprise division was up for sale.

Permira frontrunner to buy Alcatel-Lucent ops

Private equity firm Permira is the "lead source" to buy a number of companies put up for sale by Alcatel-Lucent, Reuters reported, citing sources familiar with the situation. Alcatel-Lucent and Siemens are weighing initial public offerings of their businesses that sell phone equipment and services to companies, people familiar with their plans told Bloomberg.
