Altice Europe sets up Fastfiber wholesale network unit in Portugal

Altice Europe has set up Fastfiber (formerly Altice Portugal FTTH), a new company to manage wholesale access to its fibre network in Portugal. This follows Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners’ acquisition of a 49.99 percent stake in Fastfiber, which values values the company at EUR 4.6 billion.

Fastfiber claims to be the largest FTTH wholesaler in Portugal, with around 4 million homes passed at year-end 2019. The company comprises of all Meo’s fibre assets (FTTH and dark fibre) in Portugal and will sell wholesale services to all operators at the same financial terms. Meo will sell technical services to Fastfiber for the construction, maintenance and subscriber connection to the fibre network.
