Amazon CEO starts Bezos Earth fund, with commitment of USD 10 bln
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has launched the Bezos Earth fund, with a commitment of USD 10 billion. The CEO made the announcement on Instagram, explaining that the money will fund scientists, activists and NGOS fighting climate change and looking to help preserve and protect the natural world in general. The fund will start issuing grants this summer. 

The fund will not engage in private sector investment, but focus entirely on charitable giving, sources told The Verge.

Amazon creates label for nature-preserving products

Amazon, which recently started out handing investments under its Climate Pledge Fund, has now started a programme to help make it easy for customers to discover and shop for more sustainable products. Amazon will give a Climate Pledge Friendly label to products that have one or more of 19 sustainability certifications that help preserve the natural world, such as reducing the carbon footprint of shipments to customers.
