AMC mulling streaming service for millenials - report

AMC Networks wants to start a commercial-free online video streaming service aimed at millennial TV subscribers, Reuters reported, citing sources familiar with the situation, who said that unlike some other streaming services, AMC’s would be available only to people already subscribing to a cable TV package.

The sources said AMC is doing this as a way to support the traditional cable television industry at a time when many younger consumers are increasingly cutting the cord.

AMC is discussing featuring digital-only spinoff shows of its existing programs like "The Walking Dead" and is considering pricing at USD 4.99-6.99 per month, though final details are still being worked out. AMC declined to comment.
