
Apple to create 1,000 new jobs in Ireland by mid-2017

Foreign direct investment agency IDA Ireland has welcomed news that Apple plans to expand its campus in Hollyhill, County Cork, adding a new building to provide office space and room for 1,000 additional employees by mid-2017. Apple is estimated to support almost 18,000 jobs across Ireland, including over 5,000 direct Apple employees. Apple also announced that it is teaming with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland to support research in offshore energy technology and is setting up a EUR 1 million Ocean Energy Industry Fund.
