Armentel changes name to Veon Armenia but retains Beeline brand

The operator Armentel, working under the Beeline Armenia brand, has announced that it is changing its corporate name to Veon Armenia, reports Arka.am. The operator will continue using the Beeline Armenia brand. Armentel, which provides fixed and mobile services, is fully owned by the Veon Group, which used to be called Vimpelcom.

The operator Veon Armenia, working under the Beeline Armenia brand, has opened a new retail outlet and service site in central Yerevan, reports Arka.am. The operator plans to continue expanding its retail chain in the capital city as well as in the regions. Beeline Armenia currently owns 77 shops across the country.

Mobile operator Armentel, working under the Beeline Armenia brand, plans to launch a chain of its own terminals for the sale of Sims, reports Arka.am. The first terminals will be deployed in the city of Yerevan.

Beeline Armenia has launched a new installment offer on handsets in cooperation with Unibank, reports Arka.am. The devices are available for sale in shops of the operator under packages with postpaid tariffs of the 'Smart' line.

Vimpelcom has announced a change in name to Veon, coinciding with the launch of an OTT services platform under the same name across its footprint this year. The company presented the plans alongside its quarterly results and a new dividend policy that will see it increase returns to shareholders from next year. The Amsterdam-headquartered group also plans to take a second stock market listing, alongside New York, on Euronext Amsterdam from Q2 in order to increase its free float.
