AT&T looking to sell operations in Puerto Rico - report
AT&T has hired a financial advisor for the potential sales of its operations in Puerto Rico, Reuters reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The company has been looking at different ways to cut its debt, including the sale also of its regional sports networks and selling office space in New York City for USD 2.2 billion. A divestment of its business in Puerto Rico could bring in USD 3 billion and interest is strong, but the sources said it is still possible no deal materializes. 

The operations on the island include internet, TV, landlines and business services. The business has around USD 300 million in 12-month EBITDA, the sources said.

AT&T sees pay-TV customer losses increasing by 300,000 in Q3

AT&T said it expects to lose more pay-TV subscribers in the third quarter, due to tough negotiations over new distribution agreements with broadcasters and limited promotional activity. Speaking at an investor conference, CEO John Stephens said the loss of premium pay-TV subscribers is expected to exceed the previous quarter by 300,000 to 350,000.

Elliott Management calls for turnaround plan at AT&T

The activist investor Elliott Management has launched a call for a strategic rethink at AT&T, saying it has a plan to turnaround the company's business and end the stock's underperformance. After buying USD 3.2 billion worth of AT&T's shares, one of its largest investments ever, Elliott said it sees as much as 65 percent upside in the share price by 2021 and wants to work with AT&T to implement the plan.

AT&T raises cash flow target after drop in Q2 earnings

AT&T has raised its target for free cash flow this year, supported by better working capital management, after reporting a record amount of USD 8.8 billion in the second quarter. Net earnings fell to USD 0.51 per share in Q2 from USD 0.81 a year earlier and also declined on an adjusted basis, due to a number of one-time items. The US operator said it still expects a low single-digit rise in full-year adjusted earnings.

AT&T could decide to sell its four regional sports networks in order to help it reduce debt, Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The company wants to cut debt by up to USD 8 billion this year.

AT&T completes sale of NYC office space for USD 2.2 bln

AT&T's WarnerMedia has completed the sale-leaseback of its premises at 30 Hudson Yards in New York City to a consortium for about USD 2.2 billion. The initial agreement for the deal was signed in April. WWarnerMedia's lease at 30 Hudson Yards will run through early 2034. AT&T said it will use the money raised, along the planned sale of other non-core assets, to reduce its debt.
