Baidu, Xiaomi to develop AI-based smart connected devices
Chinese companies Baidu and Xiaomi have teamed up to develop consumer electronics to increase the adoption of artificial intelligence worldwide. Baidu and smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi will jointly develop advanced consumer electronic products powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and connected to the internet of things (IoT), South China Morning Post reports. Baidu and Xiaomi announced their partnership deal at Xiaomi’s first IoT Developer Conference on 28 November in Beijing. According to Baidu COO Lu Qi, the company’s cooperation agreement with Xiaomi will lead to the next stage of AI development in China.

Xiaomi earlier reported that it has more than 85 million connected devices based on the range of products that it sells – including smartphones, laptop computers, air purifiers, robot vacuum cleaners, coffee makers and electric scooters.
