
Belgian mobile market revenues slide 1.1% in Q3

Belgian mobile operators recorded total revenues of EUR 898 million in the third quarter, down 1.1 percent from the second quarter and 2.5 percent year-on-year, Telecompaper's latest quarterly report on the Belgian market revealed. Base was the only operator to grow, with Proximus and Mobistar reporting declining sales, on a quarterly as well as a yearly basis. The total number of connections increased by 5 percent in the year to 13.3 million, translating into a penetration of 120.9 percent. Market shares were stable, with Proximus holding 39 percent, and Mobistar and Base with 31 percent each. For the full year, Telecompaper expects Belgian mobile revenues to go slightly lower to EUR 3.6 billion.
