Belgium takes top spot in Netflix speed index in July
Belgium moved to the top spot in Netflix's ISP speed index in July, with an average speed of 4.16 Mbps for delivering the streaming video service. Belgium moved up from fourth place last month, passing Luxembourg (4.12 Mbps), Switzerland (4.08 Mbps) and the Netherlands (4.03 Mbps). The top ten countries were dominated by European nations, with New Zealand the only non-European country, in tenth place with a speed of 3.54 Mbps. Netflix measures ISP speeds in a total 28 countries.

Netherlands takes third place in Netflix speed index

Dutch ISPs delivered an average speed of 4.00 Mbps to Netflix users in June, according to the latest Netflix Speed Index. This puts the country third in terms of speed out of all Netflix countries, after Luxembourg and Switzerland, both with an average 4.08 Mbps. Belgium came fourth in the list with a speed of 3.99 Mbps, down slightly from 4.06 Mbps in May. In Belgium, Telenet fell from second to fourth place in the ISP rankings, while Proximus strengthened its position as the fastest provider at 4.2 Mbps.

US cable operators move up in Netflix speed rankings

Cox Communications and Cablevision moved up in Netflix's latest speed index for June, taking the top two spots and pushing Verizon down to third place. The two cable operators averaged respectively 3.58 and 3.57 Mbps in June for delivering Netflix, while Verizon was at 3.43 Mbps. Brazil ISP speeds down in April Netflix index

Netflix's Brazil ISP Speed Index in April showed a drop in speeds at all major operators, with the exception of Algar Telecom, which is showing constant growth since the beginning of the year. Australia, New Zealand join Netflix speed index

Australia and New Zealand are the latest countries to join the Netflix speed index, ranking broadband speeds at major ISPs for delivering the streaming VoD service. According to the Netflix ISP Speed Index for March, Verizon retained the top spot in the US with an average speed of 3.50 Mbps. Unitymedia remains first in February Netflix ISP speed index

Unitymedia KabelBW again ranked first in Netflix's ISP speed index for Germany in February, with an average speed of 4.03 Mbps.
