BIPT confirms 3 bidders for 800 MHz auction

Belgian regulator BIPT confirmed that all three applicants for the 800 MHz auction in November have qualified to participate. The existing network operators Base, Proximus and Mobistar all applied, with no other candidates for the 20-year licences. Three lots of 2x10 MHz will be available at a reserve price of EUR 120 million each. Within six years of receiving the licences the operators must cover 98 percent of the population. The auction will start on 12 November.
