BlackBerry Z3 to launch in Middle East
BlackBerry has announced that it will bring the BlackBerry Z3 smartphone to the Middle East. The Z3 was first launched last month in Indonesia. The new smartphone is expected to be available in the UAE and Saudi Arabia in July, followed by Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait later this summer. Customers in UAE can start pre-orders for the BlackBerry Z3 through the BlackBerry Store in the Dubai Mall. Consumers who purchase a BlackBerry Z3 smartphone in July can benefit from AED 200 in free apps available on BlackBerry World. The BlackBerry Z3 features a 5-inch touch display, BlackBerry 10.2.1 and compatability with Android apps.

Viva Kuwait has announced the launch of the Huawei MediaPad X1 and the Huawei MediaPad M1. Postpaid customers can obtain either model free of charge when subscribing to Viva's KWD 11 plan with an 18 month contract. BlackBerry quarterly results show gradual improvement

BlackBerry reported a small improvement in results for its fiscal first quarter to May, helped by its focus on cost reductions, cash flow and services. The company recorded a net profit of USD 23 million or 4 cents a share, versus a loss of USD 83 million a year ago, thanks to a one-time gain on debt valuation.
