Charlier named Digicel Executive Vice Chairman
The Digicel Group has announced the appointment of industry veteran Jean-Yves Charlier as its new Executive Vice Chairman a few months after joining the board of directors. Charlier was CEO of Veon (formerly Vimpelcom) from 2015 to 2018 and previously served as chairman and chief executive of SFR and chief executive at Promethean World and Colt. He said he will be working closely with the board and leadership team to accelerate Digicel's global transformation programme.

Industry veteran Charlier joins Digicel board

The Digicel Group has announced the appointment of industry veteran Jean-Yves Charlier to its board of directors, replacing Michael Willner who served on the board from September 2015 and will be stepping down on 01s September. Charlier was CEO of Veon (formerly Vimpelcom) from 2015 to 2018 and previously served as chairman and chief executive of SFR and chief executive at Promethean World and Colt. His appointment will become effective on 01 September 2018.

Digicel PNG has announced the appointment of Lorna McPherson as new senior vice-president and chief sales officer, reports The National. A company spokesperson said McPherson had spent many years in PNG and was not new to the people, culture and market. She has been an integral part of building Digicel PNG and the overall group's position globally. McPherson will commence this new position as senior vice-president effective immediately.

Veon executive named new Digicel CEO

The Digicel Group has announced the appointment of Alexander Matuschka Greiffenclau as its new CEO, succeeding Colm Delves with effect from February 2018. Greiffenclau has served as chief performance officer at Veon since 2015 and was previously chief transformation officer at Nokia Networks. "Given his telecommunications credentials and his experience of working in dynamic and transforming sectors, he's a natural fit for our business," said Digicel Group founder and chairman Denis O'Brien.
