CityFibre plans more than 20 new Gigabit Cities

UK fibre infrastructure provider CityFibre will accelerate plans to roll out Gigabit Cities across the UK after its board approved an oversubscribed GBP 30 million secondary fundraising. This latest funding round adds to the GBP 16.5 million the company raised at its IPO in January. The investment will be used to support the deployment of networks in more than 20 new Gigabit Cities. The expansion will ensure over one million homes, business and public sector sites throughout the country have access to Gigabit connectivity by 2016. CityFibre will shortly open an application process for the next 10 cities to be prioritised for roll-out.
