Combes chosen to lead Numericable-SFR - report
French telecom group Altice has chosen outgoing Alcatel-Lucent CEO Michel Combes as the next chairman of operator Numericable-SFR, effective 1 September, reports Le Figaro. Combes will also be in charge of Altice's worldwide operations. He will replace Altice chairman Patrick Drahi, who took up the role of Numericable-SFR chairman when Altice acquired SFR in November 2014. Eric Denoyer will keep his position as Numericable-SFR CEO. Before his tenure at Alcatel-Lucent, Combes served CEO of Vodafone Europe, CFO at France Telecom, and CEO of TDF.

Alcatel-Lucent has adjusted the remuneration package of its outgoing CEO, Michel Combes, to comply with the recommendations of the French National Committee for Corporate Governance (HCGE). Combes becomes Altice COO, Numericable-SFR chairman

French telecom group Altice has appointed 25-year telecom industry veteran Michel Combes as group COO in charge of international operations and chairman of cable and wireless operator Numericable-SFR. Combes was most recently CEO of equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent and was previously CEO of Vodafone Europe, chairman and CEO of TDF and CFO and senior executive vice president of France Telecom, now Orange.

Alcatel-Lucent CEO Combes to join Altice - report

Alcatel-Lucent's CEO Michel Combes will leave the company in July in order to join the operator Altice, owner of France's Numericable-SFR, French magazine Challenges reported. Alcatel-Lucent's Combes steps down from Altice board

Altice announced in a one-line statement that Alcatel-Lucent CEO Michel Combes resigned from his position as an independent non-executive director on Altice's board on 19 May. The move comes shortly after Alcatel-Lucent agreed to a EUR 15.6 billion acquisition by Nokia, which is expected to be completed by early 2016. Combes has not said whether he will continue as an executive at Nokia.
