Chipmaker Dialog Semiconductor is in talks with US touchpad technology maker Synaptics about a possible deal, reports Bloomberg citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter. The sources said that the exploratory talks about a possible combination are ongoing and may not result in any deal.
Both companies declined to comment on the report. The report comes after Dialog was forced downgrade its full-year revenue forecast by 5 percent after Apple decided to scale back chip orders from the company. A deal with Synaptics would allow Dialog to target additional product markets such as smartphone sensors, touchscreens and touchpads.
