Dish Network has hired the FreedomPop co-founder and former CEO Stephen Stokols to lead its brand Boost Mobile. He will serve as executive vice president of Boost Mobile, responsible for sales, marketing, go-to-market strategy and operations. Stokols said he will focus on "bringing new innovations to the market, increased availability across all channels, and ultimately, the best consumer value in mobile."
Stokols sold FreedomPop last year, when his company also pursued a bid to acquire Boost Mobile from Sprint. Prior to FreedomPop, he founded Woo Media, an interactive video communications company which he sold in November 2011. Stokols started his career at Accenture and in 2004 became VP of eBusiness at Qwest Communications. He also spent three years as BT’s SVP of Strategy and Product Development, where he led all consumer product innovation.
