Draka, Prysmian merger talks end
Merger talks between Dutch cable producer Draka and Italy's Prysmian have ended. Draka said that the parties could not agree on the main terms and conditions. The two first announced talks in late June over a possible takeover of Draka by the larger Prysmian. Both companies are active in energy and telecommunications cables.

Draka goes on sale - report

Dutch cable producer Draka's majority shareholder Flint Management wants to sell its 43.9 percent stake in the company and has instructed the Lazard Bank to look at opportunities, the Financieele Dagblad reported. Flint is owned by the Fentener family. The Dutch daily said sources pointed to French cable manufacturer Nexans as a potential buyer, with Italian rival Prysmian also in the picture. Draka and Prysmian ended merger talks last year after many months of negotiating.
