Dutch regulator to complete mobile competition probe in Oct

The Dutch competition regulator expects to complete its investigation into the country's mobile operators in October. Chris Fonteijn, the chairman of the Consumer and Market Authority, told the paper Het Financieele Dagblad the investigation started in late 2011 would be completed soon, but he declined to comment on the possible conclusions. The operators KPN, Vodafone and T-Mobile were raided in late 2011 on suspicion of illegal price-fixing agreements. Since then no further details of the probe have emerged. The three network operators were last fined in 2011 for illegal cartel agreements. The fines of EUR 88 million were eventually reduced to EUR 16 million.
