Ericsson appoints Qureshi as chief strategy officer

Ericsson Group has appointed Rima Qureshi as its chief strategy officer. In her new position, Qureshi will lead the company's mergers and acquisitions strategy and activities. In addition, she will serve as chairman of Business Unit Modems. Qureshi has been SVP and part of Ericsson's executive leadership team since 2010.

Qureshi joined Ericsson in 1993, and prior to running Business Unit CDMA Mobile Systems, her career spanned leadership roles in R&D, sales, and services, including managing Global Service Delivery Centers in Canada, the US, Mexico and Brazil. Qureshi was appointed to the board of directors of MasterCard Worldwide in April 2011.

Ericsson has confirmed the appointment of Patrick Nieder as the new CEO of its German subsidiary to succeed Bernd Schmidt. The appointment is effective from 01 November. He will also continue in his role as CFO of the German unit.

Ericsson has appointed Anders Thulin as its senior vice-president for business excellence and CIO for the Ericsson Group.
