
Ericsson will simplify its organisational structure from 1 April, removing the two-tiered leadership structure, Executive Leadership Team and Global Leadership Team, and forming a single Executive Team. The move comes together with the company’s desire for a more focused and simple organization, with the priority put on re-establishing profitability. CEO Borje Ekholm will remain in his position.
From April business areas will include Business Area Networks, Business Area Digital Services, and Business Area Managed Services, while market areas will be made up from Market Area North America, Market Area Europe & Latin America, Market Area Middle East & Africa, Market Area North East Asia and Market Area South East Asia, Oceania & India.
Business Area Networks will be led by Fredrik Jejdling, currently head of Business Unit Network Services. Business Area Managed Services will be led by Peter Laurin, currently head of Region Northern Europe and Central Asia, while Business Area Digital Services will be headed by Ulf Ewaldsson, currently head of Group Function Strategy & Technology.
Rima Qureshi, currently head of Region North America, will lead Market Area North America. Arun Bansal, the company’s head of Business Unit Network Products, will lead Market Area Europe & Latin America. Market Area Middle East & Africa will be headed by Rafiah Ibrahim, currently head of Region Middle East, while Market Area North East Asia will be lead by Chris Houghton, currently head of Region North East Asia, and South East Asia, Oceania & India will be lead by Nunzio Mirtillo, Senior Vice President, currently head of Region Mediterranean.
Niklas Heuveldop, now head of Group Function Sales, will lead Technology & Emerging Business. Carl Mellander will head Finance & Common Functions. He is currently acting Head of Group Function Finance & Common Functions. Human Resources will be headed by MajBritt Arfert. She is currently acting head of Group Function Human Resources.
Helena Norrman will keep her role as head of marketing and Marketing & Communications, as will Elaine Weidman, head of Sustainability & Corporate, and Nina Macpherson, head of Legal Affairs. Jan Frykhammar and Magnus Mandersson will both also remain advisor to the CEO.
Per Borgklint, Anders Lindblad, Jean-Philippe Poirault and Charlotta Sund will meanwhile leave the Executive Leadership Team.
