Former SFR executive Paulin named new OVH CEO

OVH announced that company founder Octave Klaba has decided to step down from its position as CEO and chose former SFR executive Michel Paulin as a replacement. The move will enable Klaba to devote himself fully to the role of chairman of the board, working on OVH’s international expansion strategy and promoting his vision for a strong European digital ecosystem.

Paulin, who resigned from his CEO role at SFR in September 2017, will be responsible for executing the company’s ‘Smart Cloud’ strategic plan, which will be presented at the forthcoming OVH Summit on 18 October.

OVH adds Cloud Web to web hosting portfolio

OVH announced the launch of Cloud Web as part of its web hosting services, available with monthly subscriptions starting at EUR 9.99 (excluding VAT). The new offering is targeted at businesses that lack dedicated IT resources and are looking for a plug and play solution. Customers will have a choice of three subscription tiers, of which the entry-level plan is now available.

OVH to support growth with thousands of new employees in coming years

French hosting company OVH plans to recruit 1,000 new employees during its current financial year, which started in September, bringing the overall number of staff to approximately 3,000, reports Les Echos quoting an OVH executive. Between 2,000 and 2,500 new recruits could be hired the following year, ending in September 2019, and the total workforce is expected to reach 15,000 in 2025, based on the company's current growth projections.

SFR's CEO Michel Paulin has resigned, for "personal reasons", the company announced. He will be replaced by Michel Combes, the former head of Alcatel-Lucent who became CEO of SFR's parent company Altice in 2015.
