Former US ambassador Rice appointed to Netflix board
Netflix has announced the appointment of Obama administration official Susan Rice to its board of directors. Rice was US ambassador to the United Nations and served as president Barack Obama's national security advisor. Rice was the 24th National Security Advisor for the US from 2013 to 2017 and previously served as the US permanent representative to the UN and as a cabinet member between 2009 and 2013. 

“For decades, Susan Rice has tackled difficult, complex global issues with intelligence, integrity and insight and we look forward to benefiting from her experience and wisdom,” said Netflix CEO Reed Hastings in a statement.

Netflix said it has added Rodolphe Belmer to its board of directors, bringing the total number of members to ten. Belmer has been the CEO of Eutelsat since March 2016. He previously held several roles at Canal + Group, which he joined in 2001, most recently serving as its CEO from 2012 to 2015.

Netflix reaps benefits from original content, with record results in Q4

Netflix added 8.33 million streaming subscribers in the fourth quarter, with 1.98 million coming from the US and 6.36 million from outside. The total number of subscribers went to 117 million, from almost 94 million year-on-year, including 62.8 million outside of the US.
