
Google builds Android for virtual-reality apps - report

Google is building a version of Android for virtual-reality applications, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources familiar with the project. The sources said that Google has "tens of engineers" and other staff working on the project. There are now four version of the Android operating system, for smartphones, wearable devices, televisions and cars. Google plans to freely distribute the new one for virtual reality. The company declined to comment.
