The Android platform continues to grow, with over half a million devices based on the mobile OS activated each day. The milestone was tweeted by Andy Rubin, head of mobile services at Google. He said Android activations are growing 4.4 percent week over week. Google last reported the milestone of 400,000 Android activations a day in early May. The launch of numerous tablets and other devices based on the OS has helped growth accelerate.
