Google tests internet via balloons project in Brazil
Google has launched tests for Project Loon, a network of balloons designed to provide internet service in rural and remote areas, of Brazil, the Communications Ministry said. Two balloons have been launched in Piaui providing internet, thanks to a 4G connection from Vivo and Telebras and relayed from a Loon balloon to a special antenna installed on the roof of a school. According to Google, these balloons will be the first to go a long distance in latitude near the equator. Similar tests were performed by Google in New Zealand in 2013.
