HTC forecasts better Q4 sales
HTC forecast slightly stronger fourth quarter sales, after reporting a continued drop in results for Q3. Revenue for the three months to September fell 11 percent year-on-year and 35 percent from the previous quarter to TWD 41.9 billion, just below HTC's forecast range. The operating profit dropped to TWD 0.2 billion versus a profit of TWD 2.4 billion in Q2, and net profit fell over the same period to TWD 0.6 billion from TWD 2.8 billion. The company's gross margin improved slightly, to 22.9 percent from 22.2 in Q2. 

For the fourth quarter, HTC forecast revenues of TWD 43-47 billion, a gross margin of 19-21 percent and EPS at TWD 0.07-0.46.

HTC needs partner to survive

The past year was relatively good for HTC. The Taiwan-based company manage to grow its revenues with the launch of the HTC One M8, as well as return to a small profit. The question is whether these signs of recovery can continue in the long term given the quickly changing market conditions. The company's chances appear small.

HTC reports higher revenues in November

HTC reported revenues of TWD 16.9 billion for the month November, an increase of 9.4 percent on an annual basis and 7.5 percent more than in October. In the year to date, the company generated revenues of around TWD 172 billion, compared to almost TWD 191 billion in the first 11 months of 2013. HTC earlier forecast fourth-quarter revenues of around TWD 43-47 billion and a gross margin of 19-21 percent.

HTC revenues up 5% in October

HTC reported revenues for October of TWD 15.751 billion, down 5.8 percent from September but up 5.0 percent year-on-year. In the first ten months of 2014, the smartphone maker's total revenues fell 11.2 percent year-on-year to TWD 155.796 billion. For the fourth quarter, HTC forecast revenues of TWD 43-47 billion.

HTC heeft over het derde kwartaal van dit jaar een omzet gerealiseerd van 41,9 miljard Taiwanese dollar, omgerekend zo'n 1,4 miljard US dollar. Op jaarbasis daalde de omzet met elf procent terwijl de daling op kwartaalbasis ruim 35 procent bedroeg. Het operationeel resultaat kwam uit op 200 miljoen Taiwanese dollar. HTC posts net profit of TWD 640 mln in Q3

Smartphone manufacturer HTC posted net operating profit of TWD 160 million and net profit of TWD 640 million for the third quarter of 2014, Digitimes reports. HTC also reported consolidated revenues of TWD 16.718 billion for September rising 14.97 percent sequentially but slipping 7.90 percent year-on-year. Revenues for the January-September period reached TWD 140.045 billion, dropping 12.75 percent year on year.

HTC Q3 revenues reach TWD 41.7 bln

HTC said preliminary revenues for its third quarter amounted to TWD 41.86 billion, with operating profit at TWD 0.16 billion. Net profit before tax reached TWD 0.64 billion and net profit after tax TWD 0.64 billion, or TWD 0.78 per share.

HTC returns to sales growth in August

HTC reported a return to sales growth in August. Revenues rose 10.4 percent year-on-year and 37.1 percent from the previous month to TWD 14.54 billion. The smartphone maker's revenues in the year to date are still down 13.4 percent from the year-earlier period to TWD 123.33 billion. Sales will need to show continued growth in September in order to meet the company's forecast for third-quarter revenues of TWD 42-47 billion. In July and August, revenues totaled TWD 25.1 billion.

HTC reported revenues for July of TWD 10.605 billion, down 32.6 percent from a year earlier. Sales more than halved compared to TWD 21.917 billion in June. In the year to date, HTC revenues fell 15.8 percent to TWD 108.786 billion.
