HTC presents U Ultra and U Play smartphones

HTC has announced two new flagship smartphones, the HTC U Play and HTC U Ultra. Specific pricing and launch dates will be announced at a later date but the phones will come out on 2 March in the Benelux. The HTC U Ultra can be characterised as a high-end smartphone with the HTC U Play aimed more for the mid-end segment.

A model from the U series reflects the personality of the user, learns from him or her and adapts to put the interests of the user first, listening to the user and explaning everything as well as possible. These core values can be seen in every HTC device.

HTC U Ultra

The HTC U Ultra is equipped with two displays: a 5.7 inch QHD display (1,440x2,560 pixels), and a 2.05 inch an image screen with a resolution of 1040x160 pixels. The second screen serves as notification display and as one showing control capabilities. The HTC U Ultra is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, has 4GB of RAM, 64 GB or 128 GB and a micro SD card slot. Regarding the camera, the smartphone is equipped with a 12-megapixel Ultra Pixel camera on the back and a 16-megapixel Ultra Pixel camera on the front. The smartphone also has a 3,000 mAh battery and runs on Android 7.0 with Nougat, together with HTC's own Sense interface.

HTC U Play

The HTC You Play is a mid-range smartphone with a 5.2 inch Full HD (1080x1920 pixels) display. The device is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P10 processor. The cheaper version comes with a memory of 3GB and 32 GB of storage while the more expensive version has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage capacity. The HTC U Play has 16-megapixel cameras on both the front and back. The device also sports a 2,500 mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow along with HTC's own Sense interface.
