Huawei made a number of announcements at CES, saying its Mate 10 Pro smartphone will become available in the US next month, unveiling a hybrid smart home network system and introducing actress Gal Gadot, the star of Wonder Woman last year, as its first Chief Experience Officer, to help the brand better reach buyers.
The Mate 10 Pro will become available in the US from 18 February at major electronics retailers including Best Buy, Amazon, Microsoft, Newegg and B&H. Pre-orders will start on 4 February. The smartphone will be available unlocked for USD 799 in Midnight Blue, Titanium Grey and Mocha Brown.
The unlocked phone will operate on GSM networks in the US including AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket, MetroPCS, Simple Mobile and Tracfone, giving consumers the flexibility to choose their carrier and contract. The launch through retailers follows Huawei's failure to secure a distribution deal with a major mobile operator in the US.
Adding to the family of Mate 10, Huawei will also be coming out on 18 February with a USD 1,225 new Porsche Design version of the phone, available at major electronics retailers including Amazon, Best Buy and Microsoft, as well as in Porsche Design Stores. The smartphone boasts an unique front and back cover design entirely encased in elegant yet robust glass and comes in a luxurious and exclusive Diamond Black colour.
Meanwhile, the Huawei WiFi Q2 Series hybrid home plug-and-play system will help support the growing number of Wi-Fi connected products in the home. Huawei said the system is easy to set up, and automatically connects users to the fastest hotspot and frequency for a strong and reliable signal throughout the entire house.
