India lowers 800 MHz reserve price by 50%

The Indian government has lowered the reserve price for 800 MHz spectrum by 50 percent. The cabinet approved a revised reserve price for the CDMA spectrum as no bids were received during auctions held in November last year. A new auction is expected to take place by the end of March, with the hope of attracting more bidders due to the lower price. In addition, the revised reserve price will be used to levy a one-time spectrum free on existing operators' frequencies over 2.5MHz, until a spectrum price can be determined through auction.
