
Jolla, the Finnish developer of open mobile operating system Sailfish, has announced that its licensing partner Intex Technologies has started sales of its first licensed Sailfish OS device, the Intex Aqua Fish. The smartphone, developed in partnership with Jolla, is now available in India through online channels for INR 5,499.
The device is currently on sale via Ebay India and will also go live on Indian online stores Flipkart, Amazon India and Snapdeal in the coming weeks. The smartphone is powered by the Sailfish OS 2.0 and features a gesture-only user interface. The Aqua Fish smartphone also features a 5-inch HD IPS display, supported by 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM and expandable memory card slot. The smartphone weighs 150 grams.
The Aqua Fish handset is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core processor, 2500mAh battery and includes an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. Tailored for the Indian market, the Aqua Fish comes with pre-loaded super app Gaana Music in collaboration with Indian media house Times Internet.
