LG to show 3D smartphone at MWC
LG Electronics confirmed it will show a smartphone with 3D display at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The LG Optimus 3D combines a camera for recording video in 3D and a display for viewing 3D video without special glasses. LG showed the display technology earlier at the CES in Las Vegas. The phone also offers HDMI and DLNA connectivity. LG said more details will be available at the phone's demo in Barcelona.

Orange Austria plans to launch the LG Optimus 3D smartphone from the end of June for EUR 1 in combination with a Supernet 6000 tariff. LG unveils 3D display for mobile devices

LG Electronics has unveiled a 4.3-inch 3D display for mobile devices that can be used without special glasses at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The display features a WVGA touchscreen and a 480x800 pixel resolution and uses an applied parallax barrier technology, which delivers a series of light-blocking slits attached to the front of the LCD panel. The slits, or barriers, ensure that the left and right eyes see different images, creating an illusion of depth and the 3D effect.
