Liberty Global in takeover talks with Daisy Group - report
Liberty Global has held secret talks about a GBP 500 million-plus acquisition of UK IT supplier Daisy Group, Sky News has learned. However, an unnamed source said that the talks have ended in the last few days because of a gulf in their views over the potential price that Liberty would pay. It is not clear if the talks will be revived. Daisy has recently signed a 5-year contract with Liberty Global-owned Virgin Media to provide services and engineering support.

Daisy extends LBO deadline until 22 September

UK business communications provider Daisy has extended that the deadline for its potential GBP 500 million takeover by a consortium led by CEO Matthew Riley has been extended by 12 days to 22 September. Liberty Global acquires remaining 20% of VTR

Liberty Global has acquired the remaining 20 percent of the outstanding shares in both VTR GlobalCom SpA and VTR Wireless SpA. Liberty Global purchased these shares in Chile's largest cable operator from a subsidiary of Corp Group Holding Inversiones Limitada in exchange for 10.1 million Liberty Global Class A ordinary shares. The share consideration had a market value of approximately USD 422 million, based on the closing price of LBTYK of USD 41.80 per share on 13 March.

Liberty Global plans European MVNO

Liberty Global plans to offer mobile services to customers throughout Europe, senior VP Manuel Kohnstamm told Bloomberg in an interview. The company is "working on a deep MVNO", he said, to offer mobile services beyond the existing market of Austria and across "the whole of Europe". Liberty Global will be able to keep margins high because the company runs one billing system, one back-office and one backhaul, he said. Liberty says making good progress on Ziggo bid

Liberty Global and Ziggo said they're making good progress on Liberty's proposed takeover bid for Ziggo. Liberty Global expects to submit the offer document to the Dutch securities regulator soon, before the regulatory deadline of 21 April. Under Dutch securities regulations, Liberty is required to state its intentions within four weeks of first announcing the proposed bid. Announced at the end of January, the takeover offer values Ziggo at EUR 10 billion.

Liberty Global organic sales, cash flow up 2% in Q4

Liberty Global reported fourth-quarter revenues up 71 percent from a year earlier to USD 4.5 billion, driven by its takeover of UK cable operator Virgin Media. Excluding acquisitions and currency effects, revenues rose 2 percent, with a 4 percent increase in Western Europe, 7 percent growth in Chile and flat sales in CEE. Among its largest markets, Germany grew 7 percent, Belgium was up 10 percent, Switzerland advanced 4 percent, and the UK expanded 1 percent, while the Netherlands contracted by 2 percent.

Daisy delivers professional services to Virgin Media

UK business communications and IT services provider Daisy Group has signed a 5-year framework agreement with Virgin Media to provide third party professional services and engineering support. Daisy will work with Virgin Media to provide services into its Enterprise customer base through project-based consultancy and professional services support.
