Lycamobile announces appointment of new Group CEO

UK multi-national service provider Lyca Group, operator of the Lycamobile service, has announced the promotion of Navanit Narayan, Lycamobile group chief operating officer (COO), to the post of Lyca Group CEO with immediate effect.

The appointment is part of the group's international expansion. He will help drive digitisation of Lycamobile, developing new value-added services to help it grow nationally and internationally.

Lyca Group revives int'l money transfer service Lycaremit

UK multinational service provider Lyca Group, operation of MVNO Lycamobile, said it has revived its international money transfer service, Lycaremit. Customers can send money to over 50 countries and, to mark the introduction, get GBP 10 account credit for doing so. Also, customers referring their friends to the service will see both parties earning GBP 10 when the referred customer makes their first transfer.

Lyca Group is looking at expanding its MVNO business to Africa, the new CEO Navanit Narayan told Mobile News. The company is working on launching mobile services there, "as we see some big growth there in the coming years," he said.

Spanish MVNO Lycamobile, a Masmovil brand, has simplified and improved its Lyca Globe-branded prepay range, offering 4 plans at prices ranging from EUR 5 to EUR 20 every 28 days. The basic Lyca Globe 5 plan comes with 1GB of data and 100 minutes of calls plus 100 SMS for EUR 5, while Lyca Globe 10 includes 10GB of data, 400 minutes of calls to national numbers and 400 minutes to international numbers in 61 countries for EUR 10.
