Mail.ru acquires 12% stake in Vkontakte for USD 12.5 mln
Russian internet company Mail.ru has acquired a 12 percent stake in Russian social network Vkontakte from Ivan Tavrin, the CEO of Russian mobile operator Megafon, reports Prime. The value of the deal totaled RUB 12.43 billion. Mail.ru Group now owns 51.99 percent of Vkontakte.

Mail.ru raises stake in VKontakte to 100%

Russian internet company Mail.ru Group announced that it has acquired the remaining 48.01 percent of Russian social network VKontakte, raising its stake to 100 percent. The deal closed on 16 September, for an amount of USD 1.47 billion. The shares were acquired from Blesmir Development Limited and Palagon Limited. Russian internet company Mail.ru reported revenues of RUB 15.143 billion for the first half of the year, up by 21.7 percent year-on-year. Russian internet group Mail.ru has concluded an agreement on the indirect acquisition of a 11.99 percent stake in social network Vkontakte.
