
MediaTek reported revenue of TWD 78.4 billion for the third quarter ended 30 September 2016, which represents an increase of 8.1 percent sequentially, and 37.6 percent year-on-year. The quarter-over-quarter growth was mainly due to higher seasonal demand in consumer electronics, MediaTek said. The year-on-year growth was mainly due to higher mix of high-end consumer electronics and revenue recognition from acquired companies, MediaTek added. Net income for the quarter was TWD 7.8 billion, up 18.8 percent sequentially, and down 1.6 percent year-on-year.
EPS was TWD 4.98, compared with TWD 4.16 in the prior quarter and TWD 5.09 in the third quarter of 2015. Net cash provided by operating activities during the quarter was TWD 3.1 billion, compared with TWD 12.2 billion in the prior quarter and TWD 658 million in the year-ago quarter.
