MEF announces first certified MEF 3.0 SD-WAN technology vendors
MEF announced that Nuage Networks from Nokia, Versa Networks and Infovista are the first technology vendors certified to support MEF 3.0 SD-WAN services. This certification enables service and technology providers to validate the conformance of their services and products to the SD-WAN Service Attributes and Services (MEF 70) global standard.

MEF 3.0 SD-WAN certification tests the service attributes and requirements defined in MEF 70 and described in detail in the upcoming MEF SD-WAN Certification Test Requirements (MEF 90) standard. Customers who purchase MEF 3.0 certified products now can have greater confidence that they have met the highest levels of performance established by MEF.

ONUG cooperates with MEF on 3.0 SD-WAN standards

ONUG has announced that the MEF association will use ONUG's hybrid, multi-cloud enterprise user requirements to accelerate development of MEF 3.0 SD-WAN managed services standards and related certification programmes. ONUG comprises senior IT executives from the Global 2000 public companies. It says the tie-up with MEF means that technology vendors, enterprise users and communications service providers will formally get involved in developing SD-WAN service delivery models and standards.

The MEF has published what it says is the industry's first standard defining SD-WAN service and its service attributes. The MEF 70 standard was officially approved by MEF members and ratified by the MEF Board of Directors at the organization's recent Annual Members Meeting.
