
For the mid-range market, Microsoft unveiled the Lumia 730 Dual SIM and Lumia 735 with wide-angle, 5-megapixel front cameras. In addition to selfies, the front cameras will be marketed as perfect for Skype video calls, and the phones will come with a free three-month subscription to Skype Unlimited World. The phones also come with 2,200 mAh batteries, 4.7-inch HD screen, 1.2 GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor and 8 GB internal storage The Lumia 730 and 735 will also begin rolling out globally this month, for respectively EUR 199 and EUR 219. The Lumia 735 includes 4G and wireless charging support.
The Lumia Denim software update combines the latest Windows Phone 8.1 update with new enhancements exclusive to Lumia smartphones. This will include the Lumia Camera app, which adds features such as faster shots, Moment Capture to record in 4K and save each image of a video, Rich Capture with auto HDR and Dynamic Flash and new imaging algorithms for low-light shots. Lumia Camera will initially roll out as an update with Lumia Denim for Lumia 930, Icon and 1520 smartphones and as an over-the-air update for the Lumia 830 in Q4. Microsoft did not give an exact date for the Lumia Denim roll-out to other phones, saying it still requires partner testing and approvals.
Microsoft also announced two new accessories for Lumia smartphones. The Wireless Charging Plat DT-903 glows up to show users when to charge their phone or charging is completed. The Microsoft Screen-Sharing for Lumia Phones HD-10 is a Miracast dongle that allows users to cast content from a Lumia phone to an HDMI-enabled screen, such as TV or computer.
